Program Questions

1. Why should my organization choose an online course over a trained facilitator?
Online courses offer several advantages. It's easier and less disruptive to schedule an online course than a facilitated session. Instead of dedicating an entire day to a classroom session, employees can work on course components whenever it's convenient.
Online learning can also eliminate travel costs. It's both expensive and time-consuming for facilitators and employees to travel to a central location. All participants need for an online course is internet access and a password.
Finally, online courses can help companies document due diligence in complying with regulations. The program automatically records who has taken and completed each course component and test.
2. We've completed the online courses, but we'd like to have a subject matter expert come in for specialized training or a threat assessment. Can TAMA provide this service?
Although we are confident that the components offered here will satisfy the majority of your needs, we do offer more specialized services. 3. Is this program going to take my staff a long time to complete?
Our employee or front-line program, the Online Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention Program takes the average employee approximately 2 hours to complete. If participants are interrupted or if it's more convenient to complete the course in smaller segments, they can save their progress at any time and return to the program later.

5. Within what timeframe do employees have to complete the program?
30 days
6. Who should a participant notify regarding a change of address?
Participants can make the change online, or email or fax the TAMA office with their change of address
7. Is TAMA provincially-recognized?  Nationally recognized?

8. Does a participant have to renew their status (e.g. re-write the exam) periodically?
Participant will have to re-qualify in 5 years to retain their status

9. What form of payments are acceptable?

10. Can a company/participant be invoiced for the program or must payment be made in advance?
Payment must be received in advance
11. Will NSF charges be applied?
Yes; $20.00 for NSF cheques

Examination

12. Honour System or does the exam have to be proctored?
Participants completing the self-directed (manual and video) format must have the licensee or a delegate present while completing the exam
13. Does the participant receive a passing score or just Pass/Fail?
Pass/Fail
14. After failing the exam, how many times can a participant re-write the exam before having to pay and start over?
Twice (3 chances total)
15. After failing the exam, is there any time limitation between re-writes?
No, but please review the program materials before rewriting.
16. When participants re-write, do they get a different exam?
Yes
17. What information will be conveyed if a participant challenges their score or requests to know which items they answered incorrectly?
Unit numbers/Lessons identified where participant answered referenced items incorrectly
18. How can participants prepare to re-write?
Review information in the Participant Manual.
19. Can someone buy the exam only and share manuals?
No.  Each time an exam is written, the full participant price must be paid.  The manuals include areas for exercises and notes.
Participants are not permitted to photocopy the exam or manual
20. How many items (questions) are on the exam?
35 items
21. What is the passing score?
Passing score is 80%

22. When writing the exam, can a participant review their answers and make changes to their selections?
Yes, as long as they haven’t already exited the program
23. Can a participant get a replacement password if previous password was forgotten?
You may request your password to be sent to your email address here
24. Is there a time limit in which the participant must complete the whole program before the password expires?
Yes; 30 days
25. Is there a time limit on the exam?
Yes; 45 minutes
26. Is there specific computer software systems and browser required to run the program on-line?
