TAMA Program Description General Overview:

The Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention Program includes three distinct courses that meet or exceed legislated, regulated, and typical best practice requirements.

Bronze:  Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention Course for Employees
This is an introductory course for all employees.  It outlines general rights and responsibilities that all employees need to know.

Silver:  Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention Supervisor’s Toolkit
This course includes all of the Bronze level content and provides additional information and resources specifically for supervisors.  Supervisors and managers have a greater burden responsibility in dealing with workplace violence and harassment.  The Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention Supervisor’s Toolkit provides additional support for these individuals.

Gold:  Workplace Violence & Harassment Prevention Program Implementation Kit
This course explains how to implement a comprehensive, company-wide Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention Program.  The Gold course is recommended for the select individuals within an organization who have been tasked with implementing a company wide workplace violence and harassment prevention program.

Each course is designed to support different groups of employees in an organization. Employees only need to complete the course or courses that apply to them.

All three courses are delivered on-line in an easy-to-learn environment. Multimedia presentation and real-life examples ensure all courses are relevant and interesting.  Each course includes exercises to reinforce learning, as well as on-line evaluation and certification.

Program Objectives

This program is intended to reach every employee within an organization.  The role of an employee within the organization will determine which courses are relevant for that employee.  When all employees have completed this program, the organization will be staffed with a complement of employees qualified to:

  • Identify and define workplace violence and harassment

  • Manage personal relationships in a positive manner

  • Appreciate the phenomenon of bullying and how toxic work groups can develop
  • Understand how life stressors may trigger a violent outburst in the workplace
  • Examine their own boundaries and biases and how to remove barriers from the situation

The supervisors' course covers the advanced theory and unique skills supervisors need to successfully address workplace violence and harassment. This comprehensive course includes:

  • reporting and tracking forms
  • investigative checklists

The course content and toolkit are designed to be used on the job on an ongoing basis. Regular updates will be available whenever legislation changes and as theories surrounding workplace violence and harassment develop.
